DIEP/Implant Hybrid Reconstruction

This is a 42 year old woman who 5 years earlier had been treated for carcinoma of the left breast with lumpectomy and radiation therapy. She developed a recurrence and underwent bilateral skin sparing mastectomies and immediate reconstruction of both breasts with hybrid DIEP flaps and silicone implants. The combination of autologous tissue and 150cc silicone implants allowed for a very nice volume match to her pre-operative breast volume
