Tummy Tuck
Candidates for a Tummy Tuck generally have some of the following characteristics:
- Excess or sagging abdominal skin
- Abdomen that protrudes or is out of proportion with the rest of the body
- Abdominal tissues that have been separated and weakened
- Excess fatty tissue concentrated in the abdomen
A Tummy Tuck or Abdominoplasty removes excess fat and skin from the abdominal region. Tummy tuck surgery can also restore weakened or separated muscles, reestablishing the architecture and creating a flatter contour of the patient’s abdomen. The result is a smoother, flatter appearance, as well as improved abdominal muscle function.
Dr. Keegan has devised a “short scar” Tummy Tuck for select patients. These patients are usually quite thin and have a smaller amount of abdominal skin that needs tightening.
“I had a breast reduction and abdominoplasty performed by Dr. Keegan. Dr. Keegan is an amazing surgeon! He is very kind, patient, and took time to answer all my questions. My recovery went smoothly, my scars are minimal and I am healing well. I am very grateful to Dr. Keegan’s medical skills.”
A Tummy Tuck is usually performed in our AAASF accredited operating room. Though certain patients can return home the same day after their procedure, we offer one-on-one overnight nursing care for those who wish to remain in our facility until the following morning.
