Candidates for Botox generally have some of the following characteristics:

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows and on the bridge of the nose
  • Forehead creases
  • Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes
  • Skin bands on the neck

Botox injections temporarily relax facial muscles, making skin appear smoother and less wrinkled. When injected into carefully chosen muscles, Botox blocks the chemical signals that cause muscles to contract. When the muscles are unable to contract, the skin flattens and wrinkles soften, leading to a more youthful appearance. Botox Cosmetic has been FDA approved and safely used since 2002.
